Andrea retired from Gwinnett County Public Schools in 2003. She was a high school teacher for seven years and a middle school counselor for 21 years. She became licensed as a Professional Counselor in 1987 and began a part time private practice in 1994. She is a National Certified Counselor and is a professional Life Coach. Andrea started her own business, Counseling and Life Coach Services in 2007. She sees children and adolescents ages 10 and above and she also offers individual counseling for adults. Andrea specializes in Anxiety disorders, OCD, stress management, and communication skills using Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques. She is also trained in EFT and Hypnosis.
Andrea was selected as the Gwinnett County middle school counselor of the year in 1988 and the ninth district middle school counselor of the year in 1989. She recieved the Alumni Association Achievement Award in Education in 2022 from the University of West Georgia. She is the author of I Will Remember You, a workbook for children and adolescents who have experienced the loss of someone.
Andrea has appeared on several cable TV programs to talk about counseling and has taught numerous classes in the community.
