The Snellville Farmers' Market, a community market run totally by volunteers, has been voted the #2 market in Georgia by customers, and the #1 market in Georgia and the #3 market nationwide in the large market category.
The market is open every Saturday morning from June through September from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on the Snellville Towne Green with around 40 vendors. In 2018 the market extended into the off season by holding a market on the the first Saturday of the month from October through May in the Snellville City Hall parking lot, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. This year the extended market is expecting around 20 vendors.
Market customers enjoy the community atmosphere, while they do their browsing, chatting, snacking and shopping.
Customers are drawn to one of the largest farmers’ markets in the region to grab amazing produce at wonderful prices, stroll, look, buy and most of all to have fun. Kids and dogs meet and greet each other, while parents shop, chat and munch on the samples offered by many vendors.
Again this year, the committee will personally visit vendors to be assured their stringent standards are always met. In addition to great fresh produce, vendors offer pasta, locally made honeys, spices, cooking rubs, fresh breads, fresh flowers, cakes, cookies and biscotti.
Gretchen Schulz, chairman of the Farmers’ Market Committee credits the volunteers for much of the success. “We are determined to maintain the high quality standards that were set the first year, and have been assisted in this by the great vendors who have joined our market.” states Gretchen.
The Snellville Farmers’ Market continues to encourage a feeling of community pride and spirit in Snellville.
