Helping Mamas is a baby supply bank, founded in 2014 to fill a critical gap in support for families in need. We are dedicated to elevating the well-being and dignity of women, children, and families by providing essential items like diapers, period products, and baby supplies. Our mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that no family has to choose between feeding their children and keeping them clean and healthy.
At Helping Mamas, we believe in the power of community to create lasting change. Through a network of over 150 partner organizations, we distribute essential baby items and period products to families across Georgia. These partnerships, coupled with our innovative mobile distribution model introduced during the pandemic, allow us to reach families where they are, ensuring equitable access to vital resources.
Our work goes beyond providing items. By meeting families’ basic needs, we empower them to focus on higher-level priorities like job searching, education, and mental health. Research underscores the urgency of this work—there are no public assistance programs like food stamps or WIC that cover diapers, and one in three families must make heartbreaking choices between buying diapers or food. The lack of access to these products can result in missed work or school, perpetuating cycles of poverty and instability.
Helping Mamas is more than a supply bank; it is a movement for change. By addressing diaper need and period poverty, we are removing barriers for families, ensuring that all children can thrive, and building a stronger, more compassionate Georgia.
