I opened Elev8 Movement in 2022 in order to support my clients' health, wellness, and mobility in a more individualized and comprehensive fashion. Throughout my career, I’ve treated several clients who were simultaneously having difficulty with pain and moving but also suffered from other conditions such as arthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes, fibromyalgia, obesity, IBS and depression, just to name a few. These same individuals had multiple life challenges such as children, demanding jobs or complex family responsibilities. Having all of these challenges complicates the manner in which people can address their personal needs or even make self-care feel impossible.
Not having a solution to all of life’s challenges can make medical difficulties a lot worse and can drive people further and further away from what they truly value. It has been my mission to provide solutions, direction and accountable steps to help get people closer to what they care about and want to be able to do.
My journey to becoming Dr. Steven Baptiste DPT, OCS followed a long and winding road that included a career in professional sports which ultimately ended in injury. It is that journey which helps me understand, and connect, with each of my patients.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. As an undergrad, I earned my B. A. in Communications at American International College. While there, I played football and was lettered as an All Conference Player. I continued to play professionally in the Arena Football League before my career ended due to multiple injuries. It was then that I chose to continue my education in order to make the move from patient to clinician.
