Gwinnett Global School provides a transformational opportunity for students from all backgrounds in Gwinnett County to experience a world-class bilingual elementary education, regardless of income, founded on our core values of Curiosity, Courage and Care. We launched in August of 2023 and we currently serve students in PreK - 4th grade. We will continue adding students and grade levels up through 8th grade.
All students need core foundations in numeracy and literacy, and we want to ensure that every student has the resources they need to thrive. Our students learn in small mixed-age classrooms with intentional teacher support and individualized learning pathways, so that our teachers can meet each student where they are in each subject and help them take the next step forward in their learning.
We know that children learn best when they are engaged with others, communicating, collaborating and working to solve real problems. As a result, we will employ a competency-based approach in which students are assessed on their progress in targeted skills rather than simple knowledge of information, or their ability to pass a test.
In addition, every GGS student is learning a new language spoken by other students at the school. Students learn with a conversational based, comprehensible input approach. English language learners have additional, focused support in their language development, while Spanish and French learners build the foundations for lifelong language learning. Students put their learning to practical use right away, as they communicate with their peers who are native speakers of that language.
