Matthew Holtkamp
President, Holtkamp Heating & Air Conditioning
After receiving his technical degree from Indian Hills Community College (Ottumwa, IA) in 1985, Matthew moved to Georgia and began what would become a lifelong passion for helping people and making them comfortable.
After working for Atlanta’s three largest air conditioning contractors over a 10 year period, Matthew opened his own company in Buford, GA in 1996.
After the first few years in business, Matthew noticed how customers weren’t realizing the energy savings advertised by the equipment manufacturers. Researching and training outside the Metro Atlanta area, Matthew then turned his attention and resources towards educating his employees to find comfort solutions for customers based on science and a “whole house” approach, not on out-of-date industry habits.
Under Matthew’s leadership, Holtkamp Heating & Air became the first HVAC company in Georgia compliant with the new ANSI/ACCA 5 QI-2007 Quality Installation Specification, a first-ever tool in the HVAC industry which defines a proper installation and helps homeowners compare HVAC companies in making an educated decision.
Matthew is Past President of MAACA (Metro Atlanta Air Conditioning Association) and is past Legislative Committee Chairman. He also serves as Chairman of the Gwinnett Tech Foundation Board of Trustees and serves on the Board of Directors for CAAG (the Conditioned Air Association of Georgia). Matthew was a 2017 graduate of Leadership Gwinnett and is also a member of Rotary of Gwinnett.
In addition to being a 5 year volunteer at the local Mitsubishi Electric Classic Golf Tournament, Matthew also serves on the Finance Council for Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
He is an avid golfer and has a passion for the card game of Euchre.
Suzanne Holtkamp
VP of Marketing & Operations, Holtkamp Heating & Air Conditioning
After receiving her B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech in 1990, Suzanne moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in advertising. She was in account services for Austin Kelley Advertising and Fahlgren Martin, working on accounts such as Doral Hotels and Resorts, Honda Power Equipment, Nicklaus Golf, and ATP Tour (Men’s professional tennis tour).
In 1996, she and Matthew founded Holtkamp Heating & Air Conditioning which allowed Suzanne to grow her passion for working within and serving the local community. She has served as a past Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, retreat leader and catechist for Prince of Peace Catholic Church (POP) and was a member of the original Building Commission for POP.
Suzanne currently serves on the Public Arts Commission for the city of Suwanee, the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center Foundation Board, and most recently the Artworks Gwinnett Board. As an avid supporter of the arts, Suzanne cherishes her volunteer work with the Aurora Theatre and various local dance and drama programs.
A crazed gardener and chicken “keeper”, Suzanne is a perpetual hostess; there’s always a party at the Holtkamp House! Get family recipes, gardening tips and more from her Smart Living blog posts.
